JAB Hub residency closing: Bye Bye Baby - Art Pub Crawl

As we are packing our bags and looking up to the last taste of homemade travarica, we want to gather one last time with all the friends we made on the island – and finally show them what we have been doing all these months.
Hvala puno to all the people we have met, who have helped us in one way or another, new friends, travarica and pivo’s colleagues, darts partners or karaoke fans, without whom our residence would not have been so lively.
– JAB Hub residents Kalin, Hugo, Marieke and Talia

JAB Hub artist residency

This project aims to create a new space for contemporary artistic production and community work outside of a fixed tourist season. JAB Hub, located in traditional “kala” (a street in the grid of the Mediterranean city), will serve as a workspace, workshop space, a microlocation of intertwined island environments and temporalities, stories and people, which serves as a model for exploring the coexistence of local members communities bounded by the linear architectural space of a typical Dalmatian street. Our projects in the island community in Jelsa on the island of Hvar are based on the topics of raising awareness of environmental issues and sustainability, while positioning contemporary culture in the context of local stories. The results of the residency programs are to be showed on our festival, Jelsa Art Biennial, which is oriented towards the production of socially engaged art,
while nurturing the connection of artists with the local context.
